Across these project, Max Brenner explores time, uncertainty, and the unpredictability of events that can alter the course of a life within an instant. Familiar situations appear suspended on the threshold between a before and an after, where stability can suddenly turn into rupture. The recurring motif of the crash becomes a metaphor for these drastic turning points - accidents, crises, encounters, or decisions whose consequences cannot be foreseen. Shifts in perspective, fragmented sequences, and moments of suspended action reflect the instability of time itself and our limited ability to anticipate what comes next.
The works ultimately function as a subtle memento: a reminder of the fragility of plans and the importance of inhabiting the present, as the next moment remains uncertain and may lie beyond our control.
