Brenner–Havelka–Plessl is an internationally active artist collective based in Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic. The name, composed of twenty letters, does not function as a conventional signature but as a code system: each project or collaboration is assigned a distinct designation within this system, comparable to an identification number. The practice is grounded in conceptual rigor, interdisciplinary exchange, and material experimentation.

The works operate across a wide range of media, including installation, publication, performance, painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, sound, photo, site-specific interventions and public art. Rather than being tied to a particular medium, the practice responds to the specific conditions and conceptual requirements of each project, engaging with institutional frameworks, spatial contexts, and systems of order. This produces a methodological approach that focuses less on the artwork as an isolated object and more on the systems, contexts, and relations through which it emerges.

Collaboration is an integral part of the artistic practice; depending on the project, the collective is selectively expanded with external experts. This project-based extension is part of the working structure itself and significantly shapes the production of the works.
