Carte Blanche #8 – Pathways takes place at the Aurora Hotel in the heart of Merano, where the Hotel and restaurant spaces are transformed into a temporary exhibition setting. During an exceptional culinary evening for invited guests, Max Brenner presents paintings expanded with silkscreens and wooden reliefs. Between the courses, the artist guides small groups through the exhibition, offering insights into his practice to open a dialogue between the guests. Brenner’s works explore the tension between the mass-production connotations of silkscreen and the uniqueness of each artwork. From a single drawing he creates only a few hand-pulled prints, each finished with different colors, turning every piece into a singular object that invites viewers to question what they see.
