zeit3000art4free is a 470×315 mm newspaper by Sissi Petutschnigg, designed by Michael F. Plessl. The typographic design uses Neue Helvetica and Angewandte Red (CMYK 0/88/100/0).

The newspaper itself becomes part of this examination: as an inexpensive, mass-reproducible, and freely accessible medium, it stands in contrast to the idea of the unique, valuable artwork meant to be preserved permanently. Different voices, textual forms, and tones exist alongside one another on equal terms, creating a deliberately ambivalent publication that oscillates between seriousness and irony. Art appears simultaneously as labour, a social relationship, an act of self-assertion, and a possibility for resistance.

The newspaper brings together poems, essays, manifestos, dialogues, collages, and autobiographical reflections. A playful, at times absurd approach to language and existing textual forms meets a serious examination of artistic practice, its social perceptions, and its economic conditions.
