In collaboration with the artist Sissi Petutschnigg, the newspaper zeit3000art4free was created. As part of her diploma project, her texts, poems, collages, and photographs were transformed into the format of a newspaper. A total of 3,000 copies were produced in the corporate identity colour of the University of Applied Arts Vienna – “Angewandte Red” (C0 M88 Y100 K0).
The newspaper, conceived as a printed accumulation of Sissi’s artistic work, was made freely available to visitors to her exhibition space. Those who followed the artist’s instructions and removed their shoes were introduced to her artistic world and received a copy of the newspaper. Alternatively, visitors could immediately destroy the newspaper using a paper shredder installed in the exhibition space.
The exhibition concluded with a performance by the punk band Milde Sorte. During the event, all remaining copies of the newspaper were destroyed and used as confetti.
