Max Brenners project series Tight Spaces explores physical, psychological, and social forms of confinement. Its protagonists find themselves living under conditions shaped by forces beyond their control - authority, belief, inequality, violence, social expectations, isolation, or fear.

Brenners works focus equally on endurance: on remaining, persisting, and surviving within structures that leave little room to move. Tight Spaces examines how external pressures become internal boundaries, and how individuals adapt to, endure, or resist conditions imposed upon them.
