"broken-yet-holding", our first solo exhibition, tries to convey a glimpse into this collaborative work and to make the transformative process of the collective comprehensible. What was previously decided exclusively is now discussed and debated in an ongoing exchange. This transformation process begins with the removal of old behaviours and prejudices to make space for a new identity. The essence is ripped apart and becomes the symbol for the liberation from social stigma and prejudices. These ripped fragments are newly organised and stuck together. This process is a form of self-realisation. It is the generation of a new self-determined life, not dominated by the past. The throwing off of conventions is an act of liberation, where the "unmentionable", the wounds of the past, are transferred in a creative, healthy process. In this project, we respond to these pressures both materially and metaphorically. Two original drawings – "Just flip a coin." and "Red Moon" – were first photographed and printed at a 1:1 scale on A3 paper. Fragments were torn – shapes and colours deliberately disrupted – and then reassembled and stapled onto linen. This act of tearing and fixing is not only a gesture of deconstruction but also of transformation.
