The sculpture series Goliath consists of 15 objects made from discarded skis, bolted together into sharp-edged, architectural forms. Materials originally designed for movement, speed, and precision in alpine sport are transformed into static, resistant structures.

Formally, the sculptures evoke anti-tank barriers, recalling historical interventions in the Alpine landscape where territory was controlled, structured, and restricted. Rather than functioning as actual barriers, however, the objects become sculptural interventions that direct the gaze, structure movement, and alter the perception of their surroundings.

The used skis retain visible traces of their former function, connecting regional identity and sporting culture with sculptural practice. The 15 elements can be arranged as a dense linear formation or in smaller groups, creating passages, concentrations, and interruptions.

Goliath explores the relationship between nature, human intervention, and overcoming obstacles. The sculptures embody physical and psychological challenges—moments of resistance, risk, and limitation. The surrounding space becomes part of the work: an experiential field between movement and resistance, control and uncertainty, limitation and overcoming.
