Prisoner is a large-scale site-specific work created for the former prison in Caldaro, now transformed into a gallery and a space for art. Constructed from fragments of building tarpaulin stapled together in the visual language of Broken-yet-holding, two monumental arms extend through the barred windows of the building.

The work responds directly to the history and architecture of the site. What once functioned as a place of confinement becomes a space for artistic freedom, while the arms appear to reach beyond the physical boundaries of their former prison. Between captivity and liberation, restriction and transformation, Prisoner turns the building’s past into part of the work itself. The piece is now part of the collection of the Municipality of Calderon.
