The large-scale relief installation HYDRA unfolds as a monolith-like object composed of more than 140 interwoven motifs and sequences. Drawn from unsettling news, images, and fragments circulating through the digital world, they reflect an overload of information shaped by crisis, violence, uncertainty, and existential threat. Rather than ordering these signals, Brenner compresses them into a dense visual state in which hierarchies dissolve and seeing itself becomes a challenge.

At its center, a goblin-like face emerges from the chaos, only to reveal itself as a swarm of countless smaller images. Motifs overlap, mutate, and spread beyond its contours, turning the figure into a node of collective visual memory. Like a relic from a future already completed, HYDRA collapses different temporalities into the present - a monument to images that continuously enter, occupy, and reshape our perception.

Due to a special coating, the colors of the object shift depending on the viewer’s position and angle of observation.
