4th Shrimp
to
On Vienna’s Old Danube, Max Brenner, Michael Plessl, and collector Joachim Rubner navigate a small sailboat wearing shrimp masks. A shrimp compressed into the mainsail becomes both image and propulsion. Inspired by the sailing term “spinnaker shrimpen,” when a sail falls into the water and turns propulsion into drag, the performance explores shifting roles between artist and collector, participation and dependency. On board, every maneuver becomes a negotiation of influence, belonging, and collective identity.
